QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
The plants have failed to grow into the siphon, however Aza'zel's pressure magic is able to hold down the siphon for long enough that the door begins to groan open again. The magic doesn't last long; the spell wears off, and the door closes once more. It will have to take more than that to keep it open.

MAGICKA LEVEL 76% RESTORED TO 100%
The Bone King watched as the siphon was pressurized for water to flow through. The door had groaned slightly, and he felt determined. He called upon a much more powerful and long-lasting spell to grant him the ability to hold the door open just as Totum wished. It was better to get the risky business done and over with before the whole of the caves flooded with water from... wherever it was coming from. Another cave? An underground tunnel? A reservoir? It was this curiosity alone that brought him to help out. He attempted once more to hold the siphon with his pressure magic.

The door opens a crack once again, slowly ebbing downward, but by the time the spell wears off, the door starts to grind back to its closed position. Maybe a more permanent spell would make a better solution. After all, you can't pressurize the siphon like that forever.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100% RESTORED TO 100%
There was nothing comforting about teeth latching onto her trunk, but thankfully he didn't piece her nose. As the water slipped away once more, she was released and forgotten, which left her with the ability to simply observe and consider things. There was an attempt on adding constant pressure. Something about the idea of using magic to perform this seemed... flawed. She looked around, finding a nicely shaped rock that looked close enough to the size of the siphon.
I wonder... if this would work. She scooped it up, straining a little at it's weight compared to her youthful strength. She packed it to the door, then dropped it before using her feet to shove it forth into the siphon, hoping this would be the right kind of pressure. As she shoved and pushed, she muttered words, rolling her eyes. "Magic of the rocks... puh." Nobody needed to hear or be an audience to her action; she was good enough for herself.
Success came with far too much effort which left her feeling a little tuckered out. It barely managed to squeeze into the spot, which she stared at as she immediately began to back away and silently hope for no more wall and waves of water.
Arkrael listened with interest as Totum spoke again. SLowly her tail flicked side to side as her mind worked to ponder over just what kind of spell she could use that would help keep pressure on the siphon. As the others began to try their own attemps she watched as most of them failed to remain steady. Perhaps...all it needed was a heavy rock on it? Arkrael shifted, trotting closer towards where the siphon was as the elephant began doing her own thing and quickly called upon the magic she relied on. Her gem flashed to life and with any luck her magic would swell and her intent would play out as she wanted it to..
Through the combined efforts of the elephant shoving a rock down into the siphon, followed by the wolf's earth magic dislodging a heavy blanket of rubble into the siphon, the pressure on the mechanic allows the door to slowly grind downwards. Waves of water lap over the top of the door as it sinks lower and lower, and another small surge of water rushes into the tunnel, though it is not enough to displace anybody - the Gembounds can easily withstand this surge. A blast of cool, damp air rolls out from the opening as the massive rock wall once hiding it sits ajar. There lies a mysterious darkness beyond that maw, indiscernible from where the Gembounds sit now... do they dare cross this threshold?
Totum beholds the opening with awe. Their eyes do not dare wander back to those in waiting behind them. The shadowy monster moves forward, taking the first step into the darkness and disappearing among its shadows.
Part 2 is complete! The door is now open, and there is a steady, albeit shallow flow of water running through the opening through the tunnel. Characters are now free to enter the doorway, though they do not know what lies on the other side.
The next part of this quest will be posted shortly.
It had finally worked. The effort given by everyone was finally enough and the door finally slid open and remained that way. Her multi-colored eyes first slid towards Totum, studied what expression she could decern from it, before she turned her attention back to the yawning abyss. Audits perked into attention as Totum took the first steps into the new opening and without hesitation the she-wolf followed. She would not turn her gaze to see if anyone else would follow and see what was now open for them all to see, but rather kept her gaze focused and steady in front of her. With long, confident strides Arkrael disappeared into the darkness behind the now opened door.
Her eyes widened a little as water splashed out, but sighed out in relief that it was not at all the current that overflowed them all before. She didn't hesitate to enter, trotting into the tunnel with overwhelming curiosity for might be hidden behind this giant door.
High above the jagged ice and rocks, a pair of eyes watched the Gembounds. As progress succeeded and the door opened, the eyes narrowed. When Totum was the first to move through the door, the narrowed pair of eyes quickly vanished and was gone; but two other bodies remained up there for a breath of a moment. Then there was only one body, 'watching' wildly, as if deciding whether or not to descend as the black wolf entered the door next. Its attention darted from one Gembound to the next, growing frantic and hungry. If one's hearing was good enough, they would hear a chattering above the sound of the water - but only just.
A demanding call took the last body away from the vantage point, and the Gembounds were left alone with the door and their decision.

Before the darkness took her completely, she paused. A faint sound catching her attention. It wasn't the water; that sound was distinct and natural. Something else seemed... off. Call it a feeling in her gut. She looked upward and around, finding nothing. She blew a suspicious snort, then carried onward. Soon, the darkness took her completely, leaving her well out of sight to the next gembound to follow.
