Catalyst tilted her head as she stared down Glory, trying to figure out what he was saying. Hungry, she knew what that meant. Yes, she was hungry, very much so. Could the little bird-thing make her feel not-hungry? And... thirsty? Was that the funny feeling in her throat? Yes, it was.
She chirped, trailing Glory as he walked away a few strides. When he stopped, she chirped again, not understanding why he had stopped. A wedge-like head tilted, catching onto an odd flowing sound. What was that? She felt she should know it, but for some reason it slipped her mind.
The little bird-thing lead their way to a large water-thing, and instinctively she knew what to do. She approached the water, and dipped her mouth in, allowing it to fill with the fresh water, before tilting her head back to allow it to flow down her throat.
This repeated several times, before she dunked her head and rose, allowing water to run down her hide, before looking at Glory, chirping a cheerful 'chirrrrchirrrchirp!'

Glory watched approvingly as the Catalyst dipped their head into the water to drink the cool, clear liquid. He nodded, proudly, as they turned to chirp happily at him. "Yes, water is good! Water is essential! You must always drink water or you will die!" He said this with triumph, as if it were a victory instead of a warning against death.
There were other things, though. Catalyst would probably be hungry as well. Glory wondered if he should teach them how to hunt or if he should, just for now, catch something for them. He decided that it would be better simply to watch him hunt before they learned themselves. Besides, they didn't have wings. How would they hunt without wings?
"I shall grab you some food! Wait here." He spread his wings and awkwardly jumped into the sky, hovering a little above as he slowly made his way to a grouping of bushes nearby. Using his incredibly find eyesight, he spied down for any sign of movement. There was a small flash of brown fur and Glory immediately dived. He threw out a talon and smashed it down on the mouse, crushing its spine. He gripped it in his talon and brought it back for Catalyst.
When he was in front of them, he set the mouse down in front and hopped back proudly, waiting for the creature to eat it. Surely, it would love this grand meal he had captured, just for them!

Catalyst looked down at the little bird-thing. Perhaps she wouldn't eat it? It had given her water, after all, and water felt good! But she was pretty hungry, after all. And it looked pretty tasty!
Die? What was die? Something in her niggled, saying 'die is bad'. And so, she assumed, die was not a thing she wanted to do. So she must drink a lot of water, then! She would have to stay by water, although already there was a need to wander away, to explore.
The little bird thing spread its wings, taking to the air. Catalyst 'creeled' curiously, but gathered what he meant, and so stood in place. She stood tall, watching the bird-thing closely as it fluttered to some bushes nearby. And then, suddenly, he was diving down, coming up with something held in his feet. Which, looking down, were rather the same as hers! Sure, his were orangish and looked like they were covered in lines, but they were rather similar. Could she do that? Hopping into the air, she determined that, no, she couldn't.
Something fuzzy was set down in front of her, and she leaned down to sniff it. It smelled of blood, and after a moment she cottoned on. The raptor leaned down, and the mouse vanished down her throat in a gulp. The little reptile 'creeled' happily again, stooping down to butt her head against Glory affectionately.

Glory waited for Catalyst to dig in and watched with amazement as it simply swung its head back and the mouse disappeared down its throat. He had never seen anyone eat that fast! Even with a little mouse like that! For a second, just a second, he had a doubt. A doubt that he should stay by Catalyst in case they turned on him and decided that he would make a good snack.
But then its head came down and, before he could do anything, it affectionately nudged his head. He reeled back a little, but his eyes were shining. No, what was he thinking? This thing was his friend! A brother! A companion! They would not want to eat him, surely! "You must still be hungry! I'll bet a mouse like that is barely a meal for you, Catalyst! Come, I shall show you how to hunt!"
He turned and led the way into the bushes sniffing out prey for them to capture. Unfortunately, there was nothing. Perhaps his sense of smell wasn't picking anything up or there truly was nothing nearby. He turned to his friend and raised his head, as if nothing had happened. "Smell the air! Find something nearby! Perhaps there is nothing left, though, and I have scared off what little there was! But perhaps you may find something...something that is not me, of course!"

The young dinosaur chirped at Glory affectionately, deciding she liked this little feathery-thing. It fed her, and watered her, and was kind to her, even helping her hatch.
She tilted her head as he spoke, the words running over her brain. Still hungry? Was she? Yes, she was! Her stomach still felt rather empty, the 'mouse' barely a mouthful to her. So she was quick to follow Glory into the bushes.
Plants crumpled beneath her talons, and she leaned down to sniff them. The reptile attempted to eat some, but quickly decided they were disgusting, and huffed. No, that did not taste good. Not at all! It didn't taste anything like that mouse, there was nothing wet inside it, and didn't taste near metallic enough.
When Glory prompted her to, she lowered her head, and sniffed at the ground. This only succeeded in bringing plants into her nostrils, and she sneezed. She raised her head, and snifed the air this time. But, no, all she could smell was she and Glory. Looking down at the golden eagle, she chirred sadly.
