Seems Deli made the right call, as a moment later, the shimmering disappeared from in front of Comet, giving them a clear line of attack. She tried something, not sure what, but they weren't going to wait a second longer. A crouch was the only warning they gave.

They lunged forward, close to the ground. It would be best to get Comet around the throat, since the venom would spread more quickly through her system that way, but they didn't really like the look of all that fur. They doubted they'd be able to get a very strong bite in. Well, looked like they were going for the leg!

Jaws open wide, Deli went to bite down hard on Comet's left leg and hold on for as long as possible, so that as much venom as possible got into her system.

The fountain hadn't worked. Darn, that was not good. Not good at all. The shield was gone now too! And now, they were lunging at her leg! The thoughts ran through her head. If she decided to attack while they were close now, she would have a chance at doing some damage, but at the expense of a wound on her leg. If she decided to dodge, she would not be able to attack them, but they couldn't bite her either.

With her plan set, she stored as much energy as she could and tried jumping to the side, away from the attack.

Deli

Deli felt their teeth chomp down on nothing but air, their attack nimbly dodged by their opponent, fueling anger in their stomach. Come on, that was so annoying! They could have had this fight ended in a second!

They needed to get them, before they got too far away! In a probably extremely stupid move, Deli released a cloud of spores from their skin, puffing out towards Comet...but she was already gone. Instead, the spores ended up landing on Deli and, before they realized what they'd done, they were inhaling some of the fungus.

Immediately, the world began warping and twisting. Fire was popping up all over the place and a tremendous roar was sounding in their ears. Comet wasn't a wolf anymore, no, she was shifting, changing, growing bigger until she was a gigantum dragon towering over them, roaring ferociously in their face, all chaos and hatred, twisting Deli's heart as they reached out and felt for it. Her water wasn't cool anymore, it was burning lava against their skin.

They stared forward at comet, frozen, dumbfounded, swaying slightly on the spot.

Comet barked in victory as she soared out of the reach of their jaws. That was a close one. She didn't want to imagine what would've happened if she hadn't dodged it. Those teeth looked powerful enough to cause a serious injury.

As soon as she landed, the wolf turned around, to see the air get a bit blurry, as if something was in it. Where had she seen that before? Oh yeah, when she met a deer who knew fungal magic. So that meant-- spores! But since Comet was far away, it looked like the spell backfired on Deli and the spores went on them instead.

She didn't know what was happening to them, they just stared at her. Well, that was a good opportunity for her own attack. Comet stored up the energy in her chest, and tried hitting them right in the face with a jet of water.

Deli

They were frozen, staring at what they thought was the dragon of chaos, their jaw open when the blast of water hit them right in the face. But they didn't feel water, no, they felt a blast of fire, setting alight their fur and burning their skin and it hurt but instead of backing down, like they'd done the last time the fire had blasted their way, they lost it. The halluginegenic spores were meddling with their brain and quickly threw them into a frenzy.

They fell onto all fours, howling and snarling, scratching at their clearly uninjured face before snapping their gaze up to Raheerah Comet. "YOU!! YOU BURNED MEAAAaa ARF ARF RARF BARK RARF ARF ARF" Their words quickly dissolved into loud barks as they threw themselves forward again, to clamp their jaws around anything on Comet, didn't matter. They'd bite down hard and hold on.

The jet of water hit them square in the face, but their reaction was not one of getting hit by water, it was one of being hit by fire. Comet wondered why they were acting like that, but quickly realized that it must be the effect of the spores.

Now they were acting like a literal dog, something even Comet had never done. At this point she was getting pretty nervous about their mental state, which was not very good at the moment. The lunge was sudden, but Comet sprang again into the air. Woah, her reflexes were better than she thought. It was a game of keep away, with Deli the predator and Comet the prey.

Their teeth snapped shut, again, on this air, but they barely seemed phased. Nor did there seem to be anything going through their mind at the moment besides attack attack attack attack as they continued to bark and snarl, skidding clumsily across the ground on all fours. There wasn't any rhyme or reason to their attacks now, they were just throwing themselves at Comet blindly, trying to close their jaws down on anything they could.

Seizures

Comet landed safely away from their snapping jaws. For the second time. Did they ever learn? Apparently not, as they were coming after her again. Perhaps it was just the spores making them act crazy like this, and not how they actually were. But she wouldn't put it past them as earlier they were swearing a bunch.

She tried jumping in the air again, but she felt jaws close onto her tail. There was something else in the bite too, but Comet didn't know that. Upon landing, she fell onto the ground and felt herself lose control of her body. Her legs jerked in all directions, and made paddling motions into the ground. A puddle of drool surrounded her mouth.

Deli didn't know what they grabbed, still thinking that they were holding onto a part of Raheerah's body, biting harder and harder, the venom in their saliva pouring into his veins. Deli snarled and held on, claws digging into the ground as more spores puffed out into the air, smaller this time, too small to see, and away from them so that they wouldn't inhale them by accident.

They were angry, they were so angry, Raheerah was going to pay! They were going to rip him apart because he burned them and burned Polaris and it had hurt so much and all of their art had been destroyed and they were so angry at him and they never had the chance to get revenge and finally they could! Make him suffer, make him suffer MAKE HIM SUFFER

Seizure

The seizure didn't hurt, but the bite did; her tail was already starting to go numb. She had to do something! Comet found that she still had control of her legs, but they would sometimes unexpectedly jerk in the wrong direction. Right when she was about to launch her own attack, she saw things start to change.

Deli was no longer dog-like. They were turning into-- a grey fox. Silver! The stone surroundings of Polaris were now trees, and the ground was dirt. Comet was back in the arena, and it was a fight to the death. The cut on her ear started to sting again, and she felt an insatiable rage. "This-- this time I will be the victor!" The wolf turned around and tried sink her teeth somewhere, anywhere!
