February News!
Hey Originers! We have a ton of news for you at the start of this month, and more to come! Let's get started with this month's
OTM Winners! A big congratulations to

Quest: The Black City
Speaking of Thread of the Month, the multi-stage quest
The Black City has kicked off with
Part I in Leo! Thus far, we know that
Farina has made demands of the Blacksmith; and that in turn, he is asking the Gembounds for help. He's helping to enchant a number of items with Water Breathing--but where will he take his assistants, and why..?
Stay tuned for a secret or three to be unlocked, along with a whole spate of updates to a widely-unexplored feature of Origin Cave. Here's a little teaser to

Event: Love Conquers All
Next up we have the
[Event] Love Conquers All! For February only, characters can find Momma Bolormaa at the Union Pillars. Here, she will be performing bonding ceremonies for loved ones, family, and friends on request. These ceremonies are a fun formality, but have the added benefit of a temporary bonus for characters with Sensorial Link!
On top of that, for the month of February, the spell Sensorial Link is half cost in the
Magicka Shop. Get yours today! Or tomorrow... or by the end of February, at any rate.
Assault on Mother
In other news, we have the
Assault on Mother in its preparatory stages. (For those who don't know,
Mother is a hive-mind that spreads its influence via fungal infection, carried by Lessers and a few Greater servants.) Believing there to be a node in Ursa, Tahi-shei has gathered a large number of Gembound to assault Mother, and to try and destroy her, or perhaps the node itself.
Involved gembound
gathered in Draco, in the thread "WE GET WHAT WE DESERVE." and then moved to Ursa to prepare a staging ground in the thread
[Ursa Assault] Staging Ground. The next step will be an outright assault. Whether this attack ends in victory or tragedy, it is bound to make Origin history.
Assuming the would-be combatants find anything beyond snow, of course.
Quest: Seven Devils
Among lesser-known quests currently ongoing,
Seven Devils is finally kicking off. After being
handed a tuning fork and a series of vague instructions by the Collector, Rain has gathered the Court to try and track down the seven "sprites" who were "laid to rest."
Where this will lead them (and anyone who joins them along the way) has yet to be revealed, but the Collector's deals are--if nothing else--very rarely
boring.
More
We do have more planned into the future, and will continue to update Origin with new content. Along with the planned site revamp, the Black City also has future legs in progress; in addition we have a brutal (but hopefully fun) opt-in event planned for physical combat-based characters for some point in the future.
