The Lost Gifts - 3 Kings

In the darkest hours of the night, when frost crisped each strand of Pegasus's grassy meadow, a shape swept by high above. A jingle of bells, a cascade of reindeer running through the air, and--oh! A package fell from the sleigh at the rear, the alien-like blue creature driving not seeming to notice this loss. The box was not very large, and was fairly lightweight, so that when it hit the field below it only dented a little bit. It rolled, its gold-flecked purple wrapping catching the light--and then it came to rest by the riverside.

The attached paper tag said, "To: The 3 Kings," but anyone unable to read who might touch the package would also know who it was for. This package would need to be escorted to Orion, to its recipient. Otherwise, The Three Kings' holiday gift might never reach them!

This is one of six Lost Gifts threads in the Holiday 2023 event! Characters may each choose one NPC to aid this year, but players can have as many characters as they like take part.

Characters who wish to aid The Three Kings should first post in this thread, and can then create more threads to travel with or simply deliver the package! Anyone may join any of these threads (but remember, just one NPC per character).

The delivery thread can be found here.

Sair

And it was cold again.
Sair sighed into the air, their breath turning into a white cloud that blocked their vision for a moment as they recollected themselves. They had definitely pulled the short stick on their choice of direction, considering this cave was indeed just as cold as the last few had been. Was there no warmth to be found outside of one's chrysalis? At least the gentle snow here was better than the blizzard. Ursa had not been kind to them.
The joyful sound of bells from above caught their attention, a moment before a thump sent them skittering backwards in a panic. Was there to be no break for a young Gembound in this world?
Sair huffed again, a massive cloud of white that failed to cover the brightly coloured box that had fallen in the snow ahead of them. It was beautiful against the white backdrop, whatever it was. A welcomed change from the snow, that was for sure.
The foal approached carefully, watching their footsteps on the icy ground. The last thing they wanted was another faceful of snow. Regardless, they pushed forward until the patterned paper box was right below their nose, and nudged it.
Though the box itself didn't move, whatever magic it was imbued with did, almost visibly swirling around them as if the snow was putting on a play. They saw a crane-like being, a massive bird made of... It was strange really, to see something living and yet not quite solid. Sair was rather interested to meet them.
A nagging feeling settled in their gut, a whisper of magic saying follow.

"Speaking." Thinking. Doing.

The sled racing by spooked October from its roost. It rose into the air with a loud caw, and almost without thinking beat its wings as hard as it could to follow. Being only a small corvid, and barely two cycles old, it was not very successful.

But while the sled had left the bird behind, the bird noticed something it missed. With another caw, it swooped down to examine the package beside Sair, though it was really too distracted to even say hello, and—

What it saw would have made it fall straight out of the air, stunned, if it hadn’t already landed. The Three Kings… beautiful. With another determined caw, it managed the words ”Kings! Delivery!” and swooped after Sair.
