Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Upon entering Cetus, one might hear a strange sound. Several shifting feet and... gobbling? Yes, surely it is! Closer inspection reveals a small group of TURKEYS!? Five of these birds stand in a group, their dull, muddy grey feathers blending mostly into the room with the exception of their blue, gemmy crops. If you listen closely, you might be able to hear what they're saying... Of course, they would also provide a easy and hearty meal for you...
Note: You may choose to harm or not harm the turkeys.
Ok, I'm not mod status, though this was approved by Madster. I'll be checking on these, but you can tag me instead of reporting it to the GM since that's not me! I've been told there will be achievement rewards. <3
In'am, Tal'at's guiding eye spider, did not like most birds. She was a flighty thing that hated anything that even slightly posed a threat-- but for some reason, she didn't seem to care at all about the birds just ahead, and kept strolling through the thick marsh without a care.
Quietly, he urged her closer, curious to hear what the creatures were saying. She wasn't paying much attention to them, and he didn't want to use his magic unnecessarily, so he couldn't get a good look at them one way or another... But that was fine. He wanted to use his ears, anyway, not his magical "eyes".

The turkeys shuffled, looking around at each other, but this was a normal movement and the bat remained hidden. They chattered quietly. The sounds sounded like regular bird noises, but the bat might be able to listen a little closer to try to make out the words. In fact, even now the bat might realize the chip-chirp sounds they make are irregular. They have a pattern. Perhaps they really are communicating.

*RUNS IN*
There was no doubt that Ghanyarah found himself drawn to anything that could potentially present a meal. To him, to his carnivorous son, even to his groupmates who resided in Cetus as well. When he heard the distant gobbling of birds, Ghanyarah was first confused. Then he was curious, and then he was downright intrigued. They didn't seem to be speaking definitive words of any kind, but they certainly were making the noises at one another, and when he had approached he'd noticed they were in a tight knit group. The komodo dragon for now was hiding in the shadows of the trees nearby, sunset eyes fixed on the group of walking drumsticks. He was unaware of Tal'at and his guiding spider nearby, and his stomach was beginning to rumble... Still, no matter how hard he listened and tried to make sense of their gobbling noises, it was nonsense to him. Maybe Aquarian had blessed them with another feast.
He found himself salivating, pink tongue flicking out of his lips and tasting the air. Meanwhile the humidity that constantly collected on his thick hide began to coalesce into a thick mist, slowly creeping in amongst the trees. His appearance was masked by the thick white fog, but anybody that knew Ghanyarah would be able to guess at his approach by the mist alone.
Tal'at's ears coned towards the turkeys, perking to attention as he swore he could make out phrases in their words. He ran his wings along In'am's bright body, keeping her calm while he tried to understand them. He had his own lesser gembound as a friend-- and he was starting to think that perhaps these creatures were not as dumb as they seemed.
Mist started to roll in around him and he knew the colder, crisper feeling of the dampness. In'am knew it as well, the feeling of magic in the air. Though Tal'at could not see, he could tell when a hunt had started by one of his fellow groupmates.
The blind bat, however, wasn't sure how to feel about Ghanyarah interrupting his learning session. He wouldn't stop the stronger gembound-- mostly because he couldn't-- but he couldn't help the crawl of unease along his spine.

Oblivious as ever to the presence of the bat, Ghanyarah couldn't have known that somebody else was endeavoring to understand them. Had he been more of a scholar and less a selfish, independent rebel, maybe he would have hesitated. Maybe he would have stopped to see if anybody else was here to investigate the turkeys. Maybe he would have considered somebody else had purpose for these turkeys, but as far as he was concerned, they were only meant as a future meal. Another blessing by Aquarian. Another gift for his good service. After all, Ghanyarah was a diligent guardian and a faithful parent. He'd do what he could to ensure his son's belly was full. Anchoring his thick claws into the soil, Ghanyarah placed his focus on the atmospheric water.
Post-Roll Edit:
In a ruthless instant, he felt his grasp on the ice. He could sense the water molecules moving, he could follow them, he could tighten them, he could condense them - beneath one of the turkeys, the air began to harden. The temperature dropped almost instantly, and Ghanyarah, in his hiding spot among the trees, fixed his gaze on it. The ice suddenly exploded upward in a vicious spike, hoping that he was focused enough to strike the turkey where it stood.
Upon closer inspection, the gobbling slowly would begin to make words for the bat. "Gou gou gou," and "hom hom hom," although the words would be garbled (or should I say gobbled) it woulbe be clear to the bat that their intentions would be to go home. Before any more words or thoughts could be made clear, a shard of ice would ripple though, stabbing one of the turkeys in the shoulder. The birds would scatter, fluttering their wings and swinging their long necks around wildly to look for the culprit. For the bat, the words of panic would be clear, the turkeys shouting, "Gou gou who? Gou gou where?" For the lizard, the words would be uncomprehensible, sounding like screeching and squawking.
He had been wandering for what felt to be days. Clearly he was back in Cetus, his home. But something felt different? Though without Clover, nothing felt the same. Even that previous battle with that dragon Raheerah, the young cub couldn't quite grow to be as excited as he hoped. Mindlessly burring the scales beside his own 'shelled egg' from his hatching day, he suddenly froze. What was that sound? Gob...gobbling? As fast as he came, he had left to see what the noise was. Was it new friends? Maybe an unusual meal?
Though coming across two other gembounds, he froze. Watching the large reptile fire off an attack. One that shot ice and drove the turkeys into a mass of panic. Loud screeching and squawking, it was rather irritating. Vicktor took just a moment to observe the two gembounds. With a smile on his face he had recognized one from earlier in his life. That bat! Tal'at! It wasn't so long ago they had met! Vicktor was just a fresh hatchling then! Barely larger than a twelve pound house cat! Though with his fast growing size and sporting a pair of opalescent fangs hanging 2 inches past his face, even at 2 1/2 cycles he was a lot larger now. Hell, he would be considered standard adult size in another world.
Slowly he emerged. Coming to the conclusion that he would be pretty safe. Even if the 'small dragon' turned out to be aggressive, he felt with his size and skill he would stand a fair chance. Though he wasn't really focusing on them now, the turkeys were his concern. He had never seen them before? Why where they here? Where had they come from. And would they for the love of all in Cetus stop screeching!

Success! The ice had exploded out from the ground, grazing one of the turkeys. Unfortunately, it sent the entire flock into a frenzy, and Ghanyarah elevated his body from the ground in alarm. They screeched and scrambled over one another, searching for the cause, or maybe an escape - and just in the nick of time, another Gembound had appeared. This one was far larger than him, and a mammal no less, but maybe it would help Ghanyarah catch one of the turkeys to eat. With a decisive snort, Ghanyarah made himself known. He lunged forward from the bushes and dove straight for the closest turkey, throwing his bulk onto the thrashing, screeching bird while snapping his jaws furiously, trying to get a hold of it.
Tal'at stayed absolutely still, listening to the birds until he started to understand. They were lost, strayed from home, trying to get back home? He twisted his head, ears twitching as he frowned-- and then a screech hit his ears. A panicked gobbling, as he heard Yara crash through and try to hunt one. Mm, Dragon did insist that they needed to catch more prey for Aquarian, but... Were these creatures intelligent? His spider was half intelligent herself, but did that make her more than a lesser gembound?
He couldn't bring himself to listen to the screams much longer. He flapped up into the air and flew over to Yara, doing his best to stay high up out of reach. "EXCUSE ME FRIEND," he cried out over the cries of the injured birds. "COULD YOU WAIT... ONE MOMENT PLEASE... I THINK I, I UNDERSTAND THEM?" He had no idea if Ghanyarah gave half a rat's tail over what he had to say, but he wanted to try.
"They are lost! They speak words! You must listen! They want to... To go home!!!" Tal'at had no idea how you asked a big carnivore creature not to eat potential food stuff when they already had one in their mouths, basically, but... "Gou gou gou, Gou gou home! I understand them! Consider not eating... Not eating them?"
