ORIGIN

A quiet birth. Hatches within the shadowed corners of Orion during the uproar of the Three Kings' and escapes to Pisces. He hides himself within the Warrens, discovering a feline there rooted in its research; it is unwelcoming, overly obsessed with its stones. A shadow drives the kudu calf away. He finds his own den to observe from; he watches, learns, and grows slightly. Eventually he becomes cooped up in the Warrens and his horns have started to develop. He ventures out and tries to visit the cat with stones—and finds that the shadow is gone. Again, the cat was not very welcoming, but the kudu calf lingers at the entrance of its den to see what it is doing with all of its pretty stones. Though the calf does not learn exactly what the weird-eyed cat was doing, he learns something important:

He is life.

And so his name finds him—Jinsei.

Now that the Greater Kudu is growing into a more mature form, he has sought a larger shelter and abandoned his old den in the Warrens. However, his new den is unwelcoming and his now-long horns snag on vegetation; the trapped Jinsei struggles for a few moments before breaking free, escaping into Pisces. While he is busy challenging his new den for more, Bartos and an unknown tiger cub approach, seeking him.

Since his meeting with Bartos and the young cub Apzohra Swiftwater, he has been intrigued and interested to meet others. Jinsei sets out through Tunnel H, exiting into Eridanus due to its lush vegetation. He is tempted by the green and even tastes a few samples, but a voice catches his attention; and the bloodied coat of a stranger captures his curiosity beyond all else. He pursues.
