Leon emerges from his chrysalis and rescues Ghanyarah from drowning in the water. He reunites with Makyna and learns that everyone he used to know and love is dead.

Makyna brings Leon to Canis, where she shows him the shattered gemstone that used to belong to Aza'zel, but are intercepted by Quintus.

Thinking there is nothing left for them, Leon and Makyna retreat to their old den in Pisces and fall into a deep sleep, embracing death so long as they are together.

For a reason unbeknownst to them, Leon and Makyna awaken once again, breaking out of their conjoined chrysali back into Origin Cave. Feeling reborn, the pair play as though they were young, ready to begin a new life.

While rummaging through Eridanus, Leon spots an old friend, Baratheon, but he isn't who Leon remembers. The dragon viciously attacks a baby Gembound and Leon leaps to the rescue, only to be horribly maimed in the process, forcing him to realize his purpose: to become stronger so that he can become a hero of the caves.

Leon drags himself back to Pisces where he seeks help from Makyna. The two are soon met by Ghanyarah, who is scoping out the perfect home for his new group.
