LOOKING FOR any deer, equines, bulls, and other ruminants searching for other herd animals to find comfort in. the caves can be lonely and frightful. a prey animal without a herd is a simply terrifying notion, and downright unnatural! let their instincts be put at ease by giving them a friend or two- someone to have their back! i am not aiming to form an 'official group', just gather a few characters who would be interested in frequent threading with one another.

THE PLAN to literally form a group of prey animals that can feel safe being around one another. the group is intended to be small, neutral, and shouldn't restrict characters from joining other groups if they desire. this can just be a migratory 'home' they can come back to! acceptance into the herd will be handled by the acting herd leader.

  1. HERD LEADER will likely be the eldest character (by default). this courageous individual leads the herd to new grazing areas, has the final say on interherd politics, and is responsible for removing threats from the area. the lead role may be passed to another respected member, or can be taken by a show of strength in battle (not to the death). challenges of strength cannot be refused, but they can be conceded. the loser typically leaves the herd to prevent future complications, though may be given leave to stay if the relationship with their better remains civil. the entire herd should be able to clearly spectate this battle. in the end, there can only be one leader. although a second may be appointed, they will not have the same influence over the others. dictators sneaking their way into this position probably won't last long.

  2. HERD MEMBER juveniles and mature adults who agree to follow the leader. they heard rumors of the formation of a hooven prey group and came to sate their curiosities for one reason or another. protection. acceptance. love. personal interest and adventure may send herd members away for lengths of time, but they have a tendency to find their way back. herd members are welcomed with open arms (hooves?) and though a pecking order is likely to form (as is natural), those accepted into the herd have earned their place and should still be treated with a certain amount of respect. please bring serious concerns to the herd leader at once.

THREADS have at least 2 (all welcome) herd threads each month in different areas where characters can interact and bug the gms for random events eat grass or something. please intend to be active on your herd character (at least 3-5 posts per week) if you can manage. we can even plot hijinks with active predators on the board!

the character i intend to throw in to this hasn't been made yet. i'm simply gathering interest. briar and i have been plotting in cbox, so if you have interest, shout it out! once i acquire a rare character slot, i'll post more info, but feel free to ask questions! ;3

available plots

the origin herd

first come, first serve. you do not need my permission to claim plots, just make sure there are at least two herd members/prospects agreeing to participate. if you do not have at least two, please do not try to claim it. ♥

mark your thread AW or PRV at your discretion. a private herd plot will ideally be inclusive of other characters in the herd, but you are, of course, free to state otherwise!

PROMPT Description

Lesser Children » created by briar
LOCATION CETUS or ERIDANUS
REQUIRES UNHATCHED GEMBOUND
NOTE YOU CAN DO THIS SOLO. ANYONE CAN TAKE THIS ♥

PROMPT A lesser cave doe has recently lost the faun it charged itself to protect. Stricken with grief, it finds your gembound about to hatch and remains surprisingly vigilant at the chrysalis' side. It eagerly accepts your newly emerged gembound as its child and, knowing no better, your calf/foal/faun is thusly raised with a small herd of Marsh Striders (Cetus) or Jungle Deer (Eridanus). More info on Lesser Gems here◥. They seem to think they are one of the cave deer and, when the time comes, will have trouble integrating into greater gem society.

ALL IN ONE BASKET » created by sam
LOCATION THE SPIRE, POLARIS
REQUIRES UNHATCHED GEMBOUND, ANYONE

PROMPT It's lights-out and cave residents have been gathering in Polaris for one reason or another ◥. With eyes unsuited for these low light conditions, you find some comfort in the gentle glow of the Spire's vibrant cyan crystal formations. The magic radiating off of these structures is heavy- almost palpable. Your belly flops, and the dizzying feeling of magic moving through you is almost unbearable.. but then you notice the chattering sound of something shifting nearby. A large [stone] chrysalis grabs your attention, wedged between two glimmering pillars just out of reach. Looks like somebody's getting ready to break free.

THANKS

Seems... so tempting.. but I just don't do well with hooved animals. XD I will... think about it...

@Macawi | You do what's fun for you! If you need help writing'em, I can always try to help if interested! I love RPing horses and ponies and THINGS. It gives me life. I'll shamelessly tag @Aries for this, and my friend @Seven who loves me more than life itself.

Aaaaand here's a concept piece.

Ooohhh, you're making a kirin?! that looks amaaaazing <3

I'd definitely be interested in this if I had any grazers. I've been wanting to make a deer for quite some time now, and this sounds like the perfect opportunity <3

@Lituus

RE: join the herd [non-group] equines, cervids, ruminants - Lituus - Jan 14 2017

Updated Herd Leader and Herd Member descriptions to be a bit more specific.

@Gabriel : Oh, I'd absolutely love to have you! That would be grand. :D

RE: join the herd [non-group] equines, cervids, ruminants - Aaliyah - Jan 14 2017

Yooo Vianne would love to join <3

RE: join the herd [non-group] equines, cervids, ruminants - Lituus - Jan 14 2017

Update: The Kirin design has been OK'd. Now I just need to get the RCS. Not sure how long that will take, but @Vianne , @Saga , @Seven and anyone else who is interested in this are encouraged to start RPing without me! I can type up roleplay starters that any of you can use to make threads of your own, if that interests you.

Check the 1st post for more info on herd plots! (Updated: 1/14)

I'll edit all active herd threads you guys make into the first post here so they're easy to find and follow. I'm looking forward to it! :D
