Origin Exit Note

Hello friends! It's been a long run, and A long time coming, but I'm gonna go ahead and announce my leave here. There is a couple of things I want to note before I get into this:

1.) None of my characters stones are permitted to be found and revived in any way, yes, that includes ones that are not attached to my main account!

2.) I will not be officially leaving the site until Esther revives the stone for snail.

3.) Absolutely none of my characters are up for adoption, that includes previous adopted characters and ones I had up for adoption before (including babies not born yet that were up at one point.)

4.) I will be leaving the discord server before I leave the site.

5.) My profiles are going to be stripped through when it is time for me to leave so I can remove relevant information from certain characters.

6.) All of my characters are being moved offsite.

7.) Please do not read anything below if you're sensitive to:
Eviction, drugs, firearms, threats, and abuse

There have been a few things that have drove me to almost leave multiple times in the discord, so I had it muted most of the time and didn't really interact all that much. Yes, that was on purpose, and no, my lack of talking does not mean I dislike anyone.

The community is not for me, and I know there's always those few people on every site that make you want to leave - it hasn't happened much on origin, but I do have problems with some stuff that has happened in the past that I will not address here because it's basically been taken care of at this point anyway.

I'm aware that I didn't have all the time in the world to post, but some of the activity required things on here made it more noticeable, especially when people are getting upset with me for things I can not control. To add to that, here's why I've been so spotty, in detail, so there isn't any confusion:

I got evicted from my home a little over a year ago at this point, when my activity decline started. My parent and her boyfriend left me there alone to deal with the landlord and police, which I have never done before, as a minor. There were drugs in the home, and the two adults were apparently making it in their bathroom - the drug I will not specify because it isn't any of your business. There were stolen firearms as well. If they hadn't marked it all as lost property, they most likely would have pit it on me because I was almost an adult at the time, and the only basically functioning human in the house.

Our animals got taken because I sure as hell had nowhere to bring them, but I did end up grabbing my sister's cat instead of mine because she is attached to hers as much as I was mine, and as the older sibling it's my job to watch out for them. I was able to get in contact with my aunt, who took us in from there. I did not see my mother or her boyfriend for a week after that. When I did get in contact with them, they were threatening me and calling me disrespectful because I was angry about this - I got called worthless and refused to go back with them as they took both of my siblings where they were staying at the time.

From there, I worked with my sister to pinpoint where they were staying so the police could go arrest them because a warrant was put out. They did, I got my siblings back for a week, and then case workers gave them to their grandparents.

Ever since then it's been constant fighting with case workers, court dates, case meetings, taking care of myself and my mental health, making sure I have time to visit my siblings, making sure my mother's abusive boyfriend who has threatened our lives before didn't come down and act on said threats. Along with so much other shit I can't talk about because it's actually dangerous and did involve people's lives (no one ended up hurt, thankfully, but it could have happened).

I am mostly away from the case worker side of things now, aged out on my birthday, but still have to meet with someone. I do have a therapist as well.

I have a job, a full time one at the age of 18. I work over 30 hours a week. It is hard to find time to do ANYTHING besides make sure I'm okay and in a good enough situation to keep afloat. Covid did not help with this.

So yeah, that's why I'm leaving. This is a hobby for me, and I can't handle the activity requirements of the site to the point it becomes a chore sometimes with certain things, and I don't like the kind of talk that comes from people when it's like that.

It was fun while it lasted, thanks dudes. I also will not be looking at this thread after it's been posted. I get off work at 10pm, so stripping of profiles besides Esther will begin then. Except for on Yew who is not mine, I will be asking Blackbird personally what he wants me to do there.

An Official Hiatus

Hello! Like the title says, I will be taking an official hiatus until the end of February. I don't know if this time will be extended in the future, but muse has been slow and I don't want to worry about posting in the back of my mind while i'm working on other things. Like school, spending time with my siblings, and other hobbies.

I've recently picked up a Nintendo Switch (along with Pokemon Sword, and Cattails) which have taken up the rest of the time that school has not. At the moment, I am going to school in person on Mondays and Wednesdays, and while that is sort of nice so not everything is online, being around people when I haven't been for a year is extremely tiring and has taken its toll on my mental health due to me not being used to it again. It's nice, and i'm not actually worried about getting sick, but it still makes my body extremely tired and stuff.

I also am trying to spend more time with my siblings. As some people know, they don't live with me anymore due to a situation with our parents. It means I can't see them every day, and only on weekends is the time I can see them (if they don't get sick, that is. I am being extremely careful.) Soon I also am about to have appointments for my eyes, health, teeth, and to get an x-ray for my hand that i'm pretty sure I fractured sometime a couple of years ago. All of this on top of court cases, and sending a letter when I turn 18 to be taken off of care, is going to be a lot for me. Not to mention me wanting to start a job when school ends in May, as I will be graduating. That, plus planning for college is going to be one hell of a time (i want to go for photography!)

So please, please bear with me in this time of change. It is likely my hiatus will be extended for a longer time, just so I can deal with everything going on.

If anyone wants to re-adopt out a char I adopted from them (besides Sniffles) please PM me over discord.

I would like to keep her, but I do understand that staff has every right to take the character back and re-adopt her out. If this is the case, I apologize for being inactive and would like a PM at least to let me know what is going on with her. In the future (after my hiatus is over) I think I might shove all of my other chars to inactive and keep her as my only character. It would be sad for me, since I love all of my characters equally, but something has to be done about my inactivity and I think that might need to happen.

The Elenya Clan

The Elenya clan is a family group built upon trust and peace. Founded by Attikias Elenya, his adoption of various younger beings and welcoming of others into his camp has become a large group over time, supplemented by his own children that accompany him in his day to day activities. While nobody is obligated to stay close, anyone is encouraged to join or keep the Elenya name if they want to have a family to come back home to in the lonely nights.

Beings in the clan are encouraged to follow their own path. Nobody is obligated to do anything for the family, and they will always be welcome in Attikias's eyes. Typically harassing other members of the caves without reason is frowned upon, along with thievery and attacks, as the clan is not set out to antagonize anyone. While it's not a set rule, it's encouraged to try and keep others safe, to build alliances and friendships where you can.

Even if they're far apart, all members of the Elenya family remain family if they wish to, whether they're in the group itself or not.

It's gonna be a little scattered.

Okay, so, I've hopped from community to community quite a few times. Only when I started reaching forum roleplays did those communities really start to matter in a good way. In forum roleplays, despite my judgement, the set-up always made it so that I ended up getting attached to the people I wrote with, rather than just the game itself. I don't know how much I should delve into about the online friend group I had stuck with for what, 4 years? Do NOT worry, they were wonderful people, and they still are. Many of them are just really really busy right now, kind of scattered to a few places. Some of them came HERE! That's how I got here. Anyways, friends are a strange, convoluted thing for me. Even online friends.

For many reasons, I keep every detail I can about my actual self a secret from people online. It's a separate world from the physical one, you know? I don't have a problem with this. I don't think anyone does. Where I start to have trouble is when people online are just so incredibly, astoundingly kind to me. When somehow, I am feeling a personal connection to a little icon on the side of a screen, and the words it writes. Or to a disembodied voice in a voice chat -- "another dimension of friend", as luca said. I never know how react. I never really say anything, and it always feels bad.

I am reluctant to tell you about the issues, for me, that come with forming personal attachments. To tell you would be to let a stranger know about something personal to me without even having given them an idea of my face first. I don't know how to feel about that. So I've elected to try to be as vague as I can.

This is meant to be a thank you letter. Because I can't express all the warm fuzziness that I've felt via Discord message or a series of DMs. Thank you for being so kind and interesting. Thank you for being hilarious and preposterous and fun. Thank you for talking to me and trying to educate me and trying to cheer me up or make me smile. Thanks for just making me smile, and for making me laugh really hard when you all go feral at night when we really should all be sleeping. Thank you for sharing your music and your writing and your characters and your stories. I've been given so many gifts and??? Let me pay for them please???? I would like you all to be paid in real money actually because way too much of this artwork (and writing!) is professional level. Not that it should be a job, just a useful payback for your gratuitous crimes of appreciation and care.

I'm writing this because I feel guilty about receiving so much and having so little that I am willing to give back. All I am able to say is thank you until I finally get the guts to do something with that. I don't know when the next spine shipment is coming in but I want one. Jokes aside, thank you for being a lesson in community and creativity and how to care about someone even when you can't imagine any physical detail about them. (Besides height I guess.) Why do you all have so much love to give? What is the deal? I wish there were some way you could just keep some of it for yourselves and know how much you deserve it and how much other people want you to have it.

I don't really know what else to put here. Maybe I'm just a little surprised? It's been 5 months for me and 5 years for some of you. Happy 5-years-in-the-secret-multidimensional-cave-war anniversary to those of you that had it on the 22nd (Zevruu, CJ? I mean CJ is a co-owner so I don't know but something they said made me question)!

I think my final message here will just be, it is a genuine pleasure to tell stories with all of you. You have been relentlessly wonderful and I can't take it. Have fun in the real world knowing that somewhere out there, you have brought not just someone, but many people, great joy.

So... you've probably noticed that posts have been slow for a while now, and I think that a formal announcement is long overdue.

The truth is, I've been struggling with muse and mental health things for quite some time, but I've been reluctant to take a step back. This place is, after all, my safe haven. I've been here for 3 and a half years without being away for longer than a week, at least not willingly. There have been lulls, and there have been quiet times and times when the site's been down, but pretty much, when the site's running smoothly, I'm here, and I have been since the 8th of December 2015.

But, as we've started planning our wedding, and the pressures IRL are amping up, I've started to realise that there are just too many things going on. I have dreams that I want to follow and the energy I'm putting into posts, I'd like to put towards other creative things. And, I feel like the things I'm putting forward right now are only halfhearted; it'd be a disservice to all of you guys for me to keep forcing it.

I won't be gone forever, don't get me wrong; and I'm still gonna be around in the discord. But I think it's time I take a step back, take some deep breaths, and let things move on.

Livius has sensed something wrong; they will be going into hibernation shortly, and will be handing over the mantle of King to Pride until they reawaken in the coming cycles. I would love to have closing threads with each of the characters they have known and loved, but at this point I'm simply too spent. However, if you would like to draw, or write out a (non-canon) last scene with our characters, feel free to post them below. I'll be lurking onsite, and checking back often.

I will be keeping up with GM duties as needed, but once everything is finished, I'll be stepping down. For now, at least. I'll hopefully be returning to my usual duties once everything cools down, and my muse comes back!

And finally, I just want to say, thank you all for everything. The good times, the bad, and all the things which have made my time here so special. The curiosity and intrigue gave me a reason to join this place, but it was all you that gave me a reason to stay.

Hello and welcome all to Origin's official writing club! A place to chill, chat, and get the brain churning!

Every week, a new writing prompt will be posted in this thread, and each person taking part will be tasked with writing a short piece or story relating to that prompt, and posting it here. The prompt may be a piece of dialogue, an object or setting, or a mood or tone to write to. To suggest prompts, feel free to send it to my GM account, or Miles on Discord!

After posting our prompts, this thread can be used to discuss our pieces, offer advice and constructive criticism, perhaps even vote on favourites later on down the line.

Participating in the weekly writing challenges will not go unrewarded, either! The weekly challenges will reward each participant with 20 magicka! Neat, right?

Rules:
- Please bear in mind the rating of the site when posting your stories! Be sure to tag anything with extreme violence or language as mature.
- Sexually explicit content is not allowed!
- Written pieces should be between 300 and 700 words, so that they can be posted and discussed within the thread!

1 Year and a Month

So, about 2 dead characters, one bloodline started, one RCS, and many characters ago, I joined Origin. All that within a year. Wowie. That's a lot. Anyway, I wanted to thank you all for having me here. Most sites I've been on, I drift away from, but Origin has kept me here. I swear it's clutched me in its claws and I can't get away. Honestly though, I'm really glad that I have stayed. I've made friends and greatly improved my writing style. I mean, the way I wrote Aka the Barn Owl a year ago is nowhere near how I would write him today. If he was still alive, that is Anyway, I have gotta do something special for this one year anniversary, but life has been so hectic I even forgot the day that marked one year here. Thank you all so much for accepting me into your wonderful community and helping me out in any way possible. <333
